About NIT Calicut
National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT Calicut or NITC), previously Regional Engineering College Calicut, is an open specialized college and an organization of national significance represented by the NIT Act passed by the Parliament of India. The grounds is arranged 22 kilometers (14 mi) north east of Kozhikode, on the Kozhikode–Mukkam Road.[4] It was set up in 1961 and was known as Calicut Regional Engineering College (CREC) until 2002. It is one of the National Institutes of Technology grounds set up by the Government of India for conferring elevated expectation specialized instruction to understudies from everywhere throughout the nation. Set in a pleasant scene at the lower regions of the Western Ghats, National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) is situated around 22 kilometers north-east of Calicut City. National Institute of Technology Calicut is a Technical Institution of national significance set up by an Act of parliament(Act 29 of 2007) in particular, the National Institute of innovation Act 2007, which got the consent of the President of India on fifth June,2007. The arrangement of the Act have come into power with impact from fifteenth August,2007 according to Notification S.O.1384(E) dated ninth August, 2007 of the MHRD(Dept. of Higher Education),New Delhi. National Institute of Technology, Calicut was set up in 1961 as Regional Engineering College Calicut (CREC), the ninth of its sort and the first to be set up during the Third Five-Year Plan period. Until the development of Calicut University in 1963, the establishment was subsidiary with Kerala University. It was generally because of the endeavors of Pattom Thanu Pillai, at that point Chief Minister of Kerala, that the foundation appeared. Prof. S. The eight places are the Campus Networking Center (CNC), Center for Biomechanics, Advanced Manufacturing Center, Central Computer Center, Center for Value Education, Sophisticated Instruments Center, Center for Transportation Research and Center for Scanning Microscopy. The three extra schools are the School of Biotechnology, School of Management Studies and School of Materials Science and Engineering.
