Conventionally, Employment Exchanges provide the services of registration and placement. There is no provision for assessing the skill set of the candidates and providing adequate training. Further, the Employment Exchanges cover only public sector employment, whereas the employment opportunity is more in the private sector. Identifying employment opportunities and providing placements suited to the profile of candidates is the need of the hour. Concerted and systematic efforts are required to make the youth employable and to place them in the private sector by making them competent to avail the employment opportunities. With this objective, the Government of Kerala through Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE), which is the Skill Development Mission of the State of Kerala, is looking forward to providing value added services by setting up Employability Centres besides the Employment Exchanges in the State.
